Our Experience in Quintana Roo
Looking back, we arrived in Cancún with plenty of excitement but very little understanding of how our new lifestyle would work.
We had sold everything and left Canada shortly after the pandemic. There was no detailed blueprint waiting for us. We were using our savings, learning how to manage accommodation and transportation and slowly developing the online work that would allow us to continue.
Our first month in Cancún still felt like a holiday. The permanence of what we had done had not fully settled in. There was no home waiting for us after the trip because the trip had become our home.
From Cancún, we continued to Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen. We visited Isla Mujeres from Cancún, traveled to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen, and explored Tulum farther south.
